Brandywine Creek State Park - Nature Explorers (Week 1)

For ages 5 to 7

June 12 - June 16, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Join us this adventure week to explore the different habitats around our park and the creatures that call them home. Visit meadows, forest, scenic hills, and even splash around in a creek. Enjoy making fun themed crafts and games, and learn all about nature. Every day is a new adventure!

For ages 4 to 6

Alapocas Run State Park - Nature Rock Climbing Camp (Week 1)

For ages 8 to 10

Learn to climb, make some friends and have great nature adventures. Campers will learn the basics of rock climbing while exploring the natural word in Alapocas Run State Park. Climbing equipment is provided. Aftercare available, $35 for the week, or $10 per day.

Lums Pond State Park - Wild in the Park

For ages 6 to 9

Get ready for a week of discovering all things wild about the park. We'll dip net along the pond’s edge to discover what lives beneath the surface. We'll also boat the pond in search of resident animals that call Lums Pond home. This camp includes a visit from the Brandywine Zoo.

Brandywine Creek State Park - Outdoor Adventures (Week 1)

For ages 11 to 14

June 19 - June 23, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Challenge your outdoor skills and dive into history! Learn about maps, orienteer through the park, disc golf through the meadows, see who can build the best shelter, explore old ruins in the park and visit our friends at Fort Delaware State Park. We will also visit the Brandywine Creek and go on a tubing trip, so campers should be comfortable in moving water.

White Clay Creek State Park - We Care for Animals

For ages 5 to 7

Caring for animals can mean feeding or brushing your own pet or filling bird feeders and making habitat for wild animals. This camp will explore the differences between wild animals and pets and how we care for both. Outdoor play near the creek, crafts and live animal guests will be a part of this camp.

For ages 8 to 10

Explore ways people work with animals such as dogs, bats, goats and butterflies. This camp will include trips to visit the zoo, an animal veterinarian, and other animal related travels. Guests include animal caregivers and ornithologists. Campers will also spend time in the creek and play games.

This camp week includes learning about fish in the pond, how to cast and of course, fishing! Campers will get to explore the pond while fishing,  hiking, dip-netting and paddle boating. This 4-day camp may include a field trip off park to a local fishing spot.

Brandywine Creek State Park - Wilderness Adventures

For ages 8 to 10

June 26 - June 30, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Join us for a week of wilderness adventures in the park. Learn the principles of Leave No Trace and how to be a park guardian. From knot tying and shelter building, learning about native plants, basic first aid, emergency preparedness, to campfire safety and hiking the trails; this week will be full of cool lessons and fun games. We will make a map that leads to park treasures. We will also visit the Brandywine Creek and go on a tubing trip, so campers should be comfortable in moving water.

For ages 5 to 7

Frogs are hopping, birds are chirping and the creek is flowing during this summer fun camp! Campers will dig deeper into our animal world at the creek with building nets, searching for frogs and toads, and on hikes looking for owls and forest friends. Plenty of creek time, active games, crafts and time outside will be part of this camp.

Campers will become experienced anglers! Learn the various bait types, fish species and knots needed to become excellent at fishing. We'll fish from the bank, docks and our pontoon boat during the week. A fishing tournament will be held at the end of the week to show off new skills.

Lums Pond State Park - Outdoor Survivors

For ages 10 to 13

Hone those outdoor survival skills by fishing the pond, teaming up to build shelters that can withstand the outdoors, and learning techniques to make the best campfire. Campers will test their agility by boating in the water and traversing the tree tops on the Go Ape Jr Adventure Course. Find out if you're up to the outdoor survival challenge!

What does a park naturalist do? Learn all about the fun you can have in the park, just like our naturalists! Learn how to ID plants and animals in the park, conservation, nature education, and much more as you train to be a mini naturalist. Go blue bird monitoring, orienteer through the park, meet our corn snake Cornelius, and draw, write, and record all of your findings in your nature journal. We will also visit the Brandywine Creek and go on a tubing trip, so campers should be comfortable in moving water.

This camp is appropriate for all skill levels. Campers are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Trips involve travel to sites 15 minutes to 1.5 hours away.

White Clay Creek State Park - Single Track Shredders: WCCSP Mountain Bike Focused Camp

For ages 12 to 15

This camp is specifically designed for experienced bikers with six or more miles of all-terrain experience. Join other avid young bikers from the region for a week-long mountain biking experience. The week includes rides all around at White Clay Creek and Middle Run trails. Bike repair, riding techniques and coolin’ off in the creek are all part of the mountain bike camp. Campers should bring their own mountain bike (bikes are available to borrow) and a properly fitted, CPSC-approved helmet, bike gloves and be able to swim.

Alapocas Run State Park - Adventure Rock Climbing Camp - Week 3

For ages 11 to 13

Become a Nature Scientist this week as we explore the park, perform fun experiments and participate in citizen science. Build a bird nest from scratch, visit the marsh to learn about wetlands, study the weather and clouds, learn about non-Newtonian fluids, craft your own egg drop container, make fruit explode, and other scientific adventures. We will also visit the Brandywine Creek to go on a tubing trip, so campers should be comfortable in moving water.

Trap Pond State Park - Fishing Frenzy (Week 2)

This fishing camp will take campers on an adventure to explore some of the best fishing spots around.
